Purchase the Yellow Book

*Note: Available to Oregon residents only- others should refer to www.iccsafe.org.  ICC's version is titled Fire Plan Review and Inspection Guidelines

The Yellow Book is a Fire Protection System; Design, Installation, and Maintenance guide designed by Eugene Fire Marshal Mike Thrapp. The Yellow Book has been a work in progress for over 15 years, having traveled with Mike from Alaska to Eugene in the early 90's.

This document provides valuable code enforcement and application clarification by way diagrams, check lists and explanative narrative and has been updated to reflect the new International Fire and Building Code requirements and current NFPA standards.

Book updates:
The book is over now 400 pages and includes a CD of the book in MS Word format. The following systems have checklists for their respective 2002' & 2007' NFPA standard; sprinklers, fire alarm, and fire pump. The sprinkler section has new checklists for misc. storage, up to 25' and greater than 25' storage sprinkler designs. The book was rearranged in subject order  to more closely reflect the subject sequence found in the IFC. Checklists were updated to the most current NFPA edition, IBC and IFC.

Mike has agreed to collaborate with OFMA on the sale of the Yellow Book for two reasons; to improve consistency of code enforcement in the state of Oregon and to strengthen OFMA's capacity to provide education. All proceeds from the sale of the Yellow Book go directly towards OFMA education efforts. Thanks to OFMA member Mike Thrapp for his dedication towards enhancing competency in our field.
